How to Make a Feng Shui Salt Water Cure
The so-called "salt water cure" is one of the applications of old Chinese coins. Opinions of different practitioners vary on the effect of this Feng Shui cure depending on the teaching of Feng Shui School each follows. However, the general idea is that the salt water cure can improve the overall wellbeing of the house, as well as improve certain areas of life by means of absorbing negative energy.
There even exists a scientific explanation for this "miracle": copper coins react with salt and water, thus creating negative ions, which positively influence people’s health and, therefore, well being.
So, follow these steps for preparing a salt water cure:
- The salt water cure is prepared in a glass bowl or a glass.
- Fill about three quarters of the bowl with salt (either table or rock salt can be used).
- Place 6 Feng Shui coins on the salt so that the coins form a circle. Make sure the Yang side (one with Chinese characters) of the coins is turned upwards.
- Fill the bowl with water and put onto a mat because water and salt, when crystallizing, may damage the surface the bowl stands on.
- Do not cover the bowl with anything and leave to stand for a year in one same place.
Try not to touch or move the bowl during the whole year, because it is accumulating negative energy which, if disturbed, may go back into the house.
In a year (usually on Chinese New Year), the bowl, together with coins and salt, should be carefully thrown away. It has accomplished its purpose – been absorbing negative energy from the house.
Where to Place the Salt Water Cure to Attract Wealth and Health
Followers of different Feng Shui schools do not have a common opinion on the best place for locating the salt water cure. Proponents of the Flying Stars methods suggest that the cure should be placed according to the person’s flying stars, usually for the 2nd and 5th star. Some argue that the "magic" bowl should be located in accordance with the year.
However, the general principle is that the cure can be really effective in areas that require improvement. For instance, if you want to become wealthier, locate it in Feng Shui wealth area. If health should be improved, place the bowl in Feng Shui health area, and so on.

However, it is important to carefully follow the directions when preparing the cure. In addition, it cannot be used for more than one year.
