Impact of Roads on Feng Shui of Houses - Stuck in Customs
Roads may have good or bad impact on your house's Feng Shui, depending on how the home is located in relation to roads - learn how roads affect your house!

Feng Shui associates roads with energy, meaning that roads, highways, and other kinds of transport infrastructure serve as passageways for Chi, the energy of life. Consequently, different types of roads carry different kinds of energy. Much depends on how a house is positioned in relation to the roads around it, since roads may have both good and bad impact on that house’s Feng Shui.

Good Feng Shui Roads

In general it can be said that secondary roads with medium intensity of traffic are the best place to live near. Ideally, roads near the house should bend smoothly and be on the same level with the house, or below. Here are some other types of passageways that carry positive Feng Shui features:

  • Circular junctions are favorable for wellbeing of the house, because they have no sharp edges and traffic moves along them together with a natural flow of energy.
  • A road that is smoothly bent around the house brings positive energy to the dwellers.
  • A house located at the end of a twisting street is good for living because energy does not move too fast.
  • Winding and curved streets slow down the flows of energy, so it is always better to live in such streets instead of living in streets with typical square-shaped architecture.
  • Dirt and gravel roads are more favorable than asphalt or concrete roads. In some sense, asphalt covers the ground like shield, thus blocking the natural energy of the earth.

Harmful Road Structures

  • Roads with heavy traffic that moves towards your home are very harmful for the house.
  • Avoid homes located at T- or V-shaped road crossings. It is also bad to live at a hairpin bend of the road.
  • A road that loops around the house is symbolically smothering the home and harms the dwellers accordingly.
  • Avoid houses located between two parallel roads – Chi simply passes by, and does not stay in the house.
  • It is not advised to live in houses situated near steep inclined roads, because a swift flow of downstream energy will have a negative impact on the dwellers.
  • It is not the best option to live in a house that is located on height, from where several roads go downhill. In this case all the good owned by the residents may be suddenly lost.
  • Houses that are situated near railway bridges, overpasses and underpasses are being continuously exposed to negative influences.
  • It is not good to live in an area covered by multiple entangled roads that look like a labyrinth. Such roads do not allow energy to flow freely and smoothly, and create numerous spots of stagnant energy.
  • If a road suddenly changes direction near the house, it takes luck away from the residents.
  • If a house is located near an airport, make sure the takeoff and landing strips are not directed at the house. Such a location of runways is likely to have a very negative influence on the home.

It never hurts to analyze house’s position in relation to roads and rivers when choosing or buying a new home. Nevertheless, even if you already live near roads that create bad Feng Shui for your house, do not be too disappointed. Among the tasks of Feng Shui is to make our environment better no matter what the initial conditions were. So, there always exist certain Feng Shui cures that can correct the negative influence of unfavorably located roads.
